Privacy Policy

Memizy is operated by The Memizy Project. We build browser-based, privacy-first productivity and learning tools. For any privacy-related questions or data requests, contact us at support@memizy.com.

All three Memizy products are built on a local-first philosophy. Your content is by default never sent to our servers:

• Memizy Studio: All video editing, audio processing, cropping, and transcription is performed entirely by your browser's CPU/GPU. Your files never leave your device.

• Memizy Slides: All AI-generated content is created and stored locally. Presentation files never leave your device.

• Memizy Learn (Local / Anonymous): Your study sets and learning progress are stored exclusively in your browser's IndexedDB. By default, no data is transmitted to our servers. If you choose to use our AI features, your text prompts are temporarily transmitted to our servers strictly for real-time processing and are not permanently stored. This mode collects zero personal data.

• Memizy Learn (Multiplayer Mode): Live gameplay events (such as scores and answers) are transmitted through temporary web sockets and are not persisted to any database. Basic session metadata (such as the room PIN and status) is temporarily stored to facilitate the connection.

A cloud account is optional and available only in Memizy Learn. If you choose to create one, we collect: (a) Your email address, used solely for authentication. (b) Your study sets and learning progress, encrypted at rest and stored on our servers for cross-device sync. (c) Application usage statistics tied to your account (such as total study time, items completed, and counts of AI generations or multiplayer sessions) to track your global progress and help us analyze and improve the platform. We do not collect payment information (the service is free). We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. Ever.

Some Memizy features use third-party AI providers (such as Mistral AI or Groq) to generate content. Specifically: In Memizy Learn, your study topic prompts may be sent to an AI provider to generate a study set. In Memizy Slides, your topic input may be sent to generate presentation content. In all cases: (a) We operate under data processing agreements that prohibit the AI provider from using your inputs to train their models. (b) We do not include personally identifiable information in AI prompts. (c) We recommend not including sensitive personal data in prompts. Memizy Studio does not use any external AI; all processing is local.

We may collect minimal, anonymised, aggregate analytics (e.g. page views, feature usage counts) that contain no personally identifiable information. This data is used solely to improve the products and is never linked to individual users or accounts.

We use only strictly necessary session cookies required for core functionality (e.g. keeping you logged in to a cloud account). We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or fingerprinting-based analytics.

Local data (Studio, Slides, Learn local) persists until you clear your browser storage. Cloud account data (email, study sets) is retained until you request deletion. Multiplayer game-state data is deleted immediately at session end. Anonymised aggregate analytics are retained for up to 12 months.

The anonymous, local-only mode of all Memizy products is safe for users of all ages — it collects zero personal data. However, creating a Cloud Account (available only in Memizy Learn) is strictly restricted to users who are at least 13 years old (or the applicable age of digital consent in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created a cloud account, please contact support@memizy.com immediately and we will delete the account promptly.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights: Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data. Erasure — request complete deletion of your account and all associated data. Portability — request a machine-readable export of your study sets. Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@memizy.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ) at uoou.cz.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of any Memizy product after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
